Thoughts and Response

Pay attention to this. Read it closely, then repeat if needed.

Maybe we don’t notice it. Maybe we don’t notice the subtle vices that have us by the balls. We don’t notice that we are about to start doing something creative and can’t because we have to casually check out our Facebook pages. Maybe that 10-second decision stopped us from letting go and creating something great. What is in us that is so scared?

Why are we so unbelievably scared to face our potential as people? What is the threat?

So many people choose to sit. They choose to stall.

Think about the following sentences:

“I should be a comedian.” “I should lose weight.” “I should stop drinking.“

What is the difference between saying those, and saying this series of sentences:

“I will be a successful comedian.” “I will be fit.” “I will truly enjoy sobriety.”

What is the difference?

The first set: full of sentences that we say more commonly say. These sentences are in charge of us.

The first set is easier. It is so simple to say. It doesn’t require any actual work. It is stalling, cowardly, and an excuse. When saying these sentences, results are rare, if not nonexistent.

The second set: full of sentences that we rarely say. When we say these sentences, we are in charge.

The second set is scarier. It is more real. It is facing the music. It is stepping up to the plate. It is results. It is action. When you say these sentences, results will happen.

What do you think follows the results that come from the first set of sentences? Excuses. Procrastination. Inaction. Depression. Guilt.

And what follows that? A need for vices, because you don’t feel like you are loved. A constant desire to check Facebook, watch TV, go to Starbucks, drink, do drugs, be abusive, be cruel. A desire to destroy and a desire to connect with others who feel the same way. You acquire a false belief that it is not possible. An inner anger. Anger towards others. Excuses that inhibit success. Knocking down other people, even if you have to lie. Numbness. Bigger, more intense fear.

What do you think follows the results that come from the second set of sentences, even if you don’t get every single thing you want? Self pride. Growth. Change. Power. Confidence. Self-esteem.

And what follows that? A desire to help others. More self-growth. Appreciation for what you have. Euphoria. Results leading to legitimate happiness. A need to connect with others who feel the way that you do. A desire to create. A desire to find the good in people. You obtain proof that it is possible.

How do I know this? Because I have lived through both sets. I have been through both highs and lows.

I believe that most of the country lives in the first set. People have created an inaccurate reality for themselves. When people say, “I’m just being realistic,” they really mean, “I am taking action at what is a ‘normal’ pace in this world.”

When you say to someone, “Don’t bother going after that. I’m just being realistic,” the worst thing that could happen is they listen to you. You are stopping someone from discovering on their own what they are capable of doing, which is truly infinite. You are making them live in your inaccurate reality. If they believe you, you strip them of their dreams and possibilities. You get them to connect with you, and then you can feel better about hating others. Who are you to say that to them?

When you say to someone, “Go after it! Put everything you have into it! Do what you want to do!” they will do what they want and they will see results.

People, if you want to do something, you have a total right to do it. You also have the right to immerse yourself in it in any way you want. If you really want something, I recommend you become it. Swim in it. Allow it to happen completely.

When people tell me they want to be a stand-up comic, I often ask them, “How many hours a day do you put into your career? How many times a week do you go up? How authentic is your art? How much do you fill the club? What out-of-the-box strategies do you use? Do you write headliners, who are where you want to be, constantly?”

When people analyze why they are not where they want to be, they might notice that it is because they could have been doing way more to become that, but haven’t.

If you are investing 30 minutes a day into your career, and 9 hours a day into the Internet, alcohol, endless procrastination and trying to get laid, of course it is going to take you a while. You are not becoming a comic. You are a person who is wading in the water when you could dive in.

You will notice that the people who are truly successful are diving in. Some people have issues with successful people, and some of the issues they have are understandable. But if you want to, you can find the good or the bad in everyone.

Say what you want about Dane Cook. But he showed us that you can go from zero to Madison Square Garden with nothing but open-minded ideas. He created the MySpace marketing campaign, an original marketing strategy that all comics now use. Comics should be thanking him for this, and also for showing us the possibilities; that it’s possible to fill stadiums using nothing but your mind. If you think you are better, that is awesome; step up and do it. Otherwise, complain, and watch the lack of results, and all of the dreams that you will destroy around you.

The good news is this: At any second, this is changeable. In this one life, if you want something, step up to the plate and get it. But I recommend that you actually do it. Go full force. Immerse yourself in the world you want. Become the comic or the singer or the artist, or whatever you want to be. There is no wrong way to learn how to do what you want. You have the right to use as many routes as you can find, take as many classes as you are able, write as many jokes as you can, get as much coaching as you need, go up as much as possible. There is enough room for everyone. Do not be controlled by others, and do not try to control others and tell them how it has to be, because you might be wrong.

Stopping something that could have happened is a disaster.

Make it all or nothing. It is possible. Life is either a red light or a green light, the problem is, many people just sit at yellow. Do it or don’t, unless you are okay with average results. Don’t let subtle little vices and doubters stop you. They are wrong. Actually take action.

I am going to be working on myself, my revised stand-up career, and offering help to others, uninterrupted. Louie Anderson, many other headliners, producers, agents, club owners, and myself have a goal. The goal is to re-boom the comedy scene and get people passionate about going to comedy clubs again. If comics work together, become more authentic, fill rooms, market better, have good etiquette, just basically step up their game, this could easily be the reality.

Another trick to ending major sh*t in your life..?

I feel like I “should” write this blog. I mean, I must write this blog. If I had really thought “I should write it,” then you wouldn’t be reading it right now. I think the main reason is I have written a couple and I have a few people writing me that they feel better. I think that’s why I need to write this one too. I want to get momentum for you in your life so that you get what you want.

I find that when my intention is to make other people happier, more then myself, two things happen. . .

Stop being a coward and go

I was thinking to myself about what is the right way to start this blog, and that’s when I realized that I should just start. That’s almost the point of this blog, just actually doing it. That is what we did when we were kids right? We wanted something, we just asked for it. Ninety percent of the time – we got it.

We just did it. When we had a question, we just asked it. Questions that we never would ask today. The adult version of the questions that we should be asking rarely happen.

We often are too scared to take that real step in life that gets you everything that you really want. Everyone could have anything they want in their lives but there is one thing stopping them – the story they have about themselves in their heads.

Why don’t we ask those questions?
You want to be successful in whatever you do? Why don’t you ask the questions of the people in that field? What is stopping you from making your life truly amazing and with a purpose? Did it go away? If so, can it come back?

Seeing a problem as it is

I have decided to write slightly a little less each time and I don’t want to bulletin these anymore. The reason is because I want to make these blogs about you. I don’t want this to at all be me saying “Look what Kyle is doing!” I will do that with my comedy. This is about me just enjoying sharing the lessons I have learned because I am enjoying this sense of contribution. It makes me feel great to see you enjoying these and I am not doing it to attract more people……I will also be getting shorter because this is all you.

I will end each blog with a referral to an amazing book, cd or movie, so you can continue.

I mentioned earlier how we can use problems to our advantage. I am in the habit of having every problem be an opportunity for me. It has been incredibly powerful for my life and my stress levels. Everything is an absolute opportunity and if you decide this, the problem completely goes away. We are in a horrific pattern of reacting to a problem with fear and then just feeling fear and closing up. You can use that information from here on out.

Do you know what fear is? It is something that was put in us to get us out of a quick fight or flight situation. It was put into us to save our lives. That is it. Our bodies are not supposed to be just releasing light levels of this fear/stress into our bodies over and over. It has been installed into our bodies to give us information. That information is “We have a situation, and we need to do something about it.” That’s the key. DO something about it. Use it. The minute you truly understand that the problem is amazing and you are going to learn something….It’s over. Your life will be absolutely amazing.

HERE IS THE FIRST STEP….

SEE THE PROBLEM EXACTLY AS IT IS. Not more, not less. The only reason we get more upset about something is we add these things to it that are not true. Then our focus goes to an imaginary world and we get mad. We don’t get mad at the situation exactly. We get mad at the world we made for it.

Have you ever called a person that you were dating, and they didn’t answer? Sometimes you call them hours later and still nothing? Do you know how many people, when given that situation, create situations in their head? I have seen it many times. I even used to experience it. When there is a problem, we tend to exaggerate whatever our prime emotions are. People who worry a lot might think the person is injured. People who are insecure might think the person is cheating. Those thoughts are what actually create the emotions. Then when the person finally calls back, the person could be mad, or scared, or excited, depending on what their prime emotion is.

Look at the situation exactly as it is. That situation is this. THE CALL WENT TO VOICE MAIL. It could be anything. Bad signal, loud room, asleep, cheating, getting you a present, setting up a surprise party, broken phone, not wanting to talk, ANYTHING. This goes with everything. If you are diagnosed with a disease, don’t immediately think “That means I am going to die.” That isn’t the case. Many people decide to focus on the people who have lived through it.

Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with 2 months to live. He didn’t even see that situation as I have 2 months to live. The truth is he was DIAGNOSED with 2 months to live. VERY VERY different. Many past diagnosis have been wrong. Some peoples meaning to that is strength and growth. Lance Armstrong heard that and didn’t think “I am going to die.” He thought “I am going to get a different opinion!” So he went to an eastern doctor, went on a detox and not only cured the cancer, but BECAME AN OLYMPIAN! The meaning was different to him and it created a whole different outcome. He wasn’t picturing the worst situation and feeling that, releasing that stress over and over.

We exaggerate things all the time, to connect with the people we are talking to. We exaggerate how little we slept last night., how bad traffic was, how hungry we are. We say “I am starving!” When we sometimes we just mean hungry.

Did you know that our mind doesn’t know the difference between what we are envisioning and what actually is happening? That’s why when someone tells you a story they act like the story that is happening. If someone tells you of a traumatic experience, they might cry. They cry because they are half living it again and the mind is literally releasing the same chemicals into the body that create that feeling. When they say an amazing accomplishment they once had, they get so excited and animated. That’s why negative people are often less healthy! Their body is constantly fighting the beliefs that these bad things are happening to them right then. So it releases the “fight or flight” chemical in light doses. Making the person literally slightly weaker. It also is lightly hitting our immune system.

So when we say “I AM EXHAUSTED!” – when we are just tired – Our mind subconsciously pictures a time it was way more tired and relives it. So we often get worse when we say the worse situation. Here is an interesting thought, what if you got only 4 hours of sleep last night, but stated that you got 8? HMMMMM Imagine if you said it enough that you believed it? You wouldn’t even be tired!

About 20 years ago, Berkley University did a study where they made two guys sleep. One guy got eight hours, but they changed his alarm clock to make him for sure think that he got 2. They did the opposite with the other guy. They both woke up, looked at the alarm clock (as we all do) and they acted exactly like the info they were given.

The guy who THOUGHT he had 8 hours felt well rested. He believed, with absolute certainty that he was fine. He has conditioned all of his life the knowledge that eight hours of sleep means he feels great! So he was good to go. The other guy who THOUGHT he had 2 hours felt like crap. He literally had blood shot eyes he believed it so much. He walked around telling people how much sleep he got and that made him feel worse.

Then at 3pm that day, they both were told the truth about how much sleep they got. This part blows my mind. The color left one guys face and went right into the others. The guy who now knew that he had eight hours of sleep felt amazing! Think about how much you could change how you feel knowing this.

Results, doing more than expected

DAY 8. Results of the contest/Doing more then required/It doesn’t hurt to ask.

If you are new please read blogs 1 through 7 first.

WOW, so I have had fun reading the results of this contest. It was fun to give you guys a chance to correct me and point out my mistakes. I want you to know that I did this exercise for a lot of reasons.

1. To get the results of repetition in you.

Repeating information into your brain will make it understand this process better and better each time you read it. I am hoping that every one of you will do what I do and read this stuff in books daily, go to seminars, get DVDs, etc. I have several of these books on CD in my car. There are many. Here are a few: AWAKEN THE GIANT WITHIN by Tony Robbins (he has a ton of stuff out), The Secret, Ask and It Is Given by Esther Hicks, The Power of Intention by Wayne Dyer, 7 Habits of the Highly Effective Person by Steven Covey, You Can Heal Your Life, by Louise Hay, Quantum Healing by Deepak Chopra. Just start listening to other things. If you don’t like it, no biggie, try something else.
The results are absolutely endless.

2. To see who would take action and who wouldn’t, and at what level those people did take action.

I will explain below.

3. To show you that just because you make mistakes doesn’t mean that you can’t do something.

As you know, I am not the most amazing speller or grammar guy. As I write more, I think I am getting better, but here is the other thing–SO WHAT? I will get a proofreader and still do what I want to do. So many people look for excuses not to do something. I could have easily said, “I don’t need to write these blogs. I am a great comedian who makes a lot of money entertaining, and I am not a good speller anyway!” Instead I thought, “I will use my bad spelling and grammar to my advantage by teaching that those excuses don’t count. I will still have a book coming out. I will still learn this stuff and I will get a proofreader.”

A great example is overweight people who say, “I have a thyroid problem.” I am not denying they do, and that sucks. However if they use that to run every decision they make, “Why go to the gym? It doesn’t matter. I have a thyroid problem. I will just be lazy and not worry, because I have a thyroid problem anyway.” However, what if you used that thyroid problem? What if you said, “This is making me stronger because I have to do more to be healthy.” Then you would be thankful for it. It is like your boot camp.

One lady wrote me about this contest and said “I was going to do the proofreading thing, and then I realized that all I would be doing there is finding the negative, so I passed on it.” That is an excellent point, and one that I thought of too! However, she still should have read it to get the benefit of repetition. If she had just read the entire thing again and wrote down a report, or re-did the assignments that were on there again, I probably would have made her the winner. Think outside the box. Don’t let little excuses stop you from making big changes.

4. To have you see where you stand right now as an action taker and what you could be like later.

Did you do this contest? If you did, how much did you do?

The people who looked at this and thought, “F*ck this” are the people who need it the most! They are the ones who are focusing on the work more then the outcome (which is discussed in day 2). If your reaction to that is, “Yeah, but I don’t care if I win those CDs,” then you are missing the whole point. This contest is not about my signed stuff. It is about you going on blind faith that you will learn more as you repeat, and also as you feel yourself take action. This will steer an entire new world for you. But if you didn’t, for no reason other then you just didn’t feel like doing it, be aware that you are setting yourself up for a very challenging life. You are conditioned to not take action of things asked of you…as time goes on people will start knowing you as a flake. No job will want to keep the slacker for a long time. Your credit won’t be great. You yourself will not take the action to get what you really want. You are living your life at what I call “AVERAGE.” Guess what? Good news, this is changeable. Just because you did this contest that way doesn’t mean that you will do everything that way. It is not who you are, it’s who you were. That is the point of this whole thing–to help create change.

Did you do the contest, but just answered a few things? Maybe just enough to get by? Then you right now are at a level in which you will live a good life. You will be someone who gets a nice girl or boyfriend. You will have a good job. You will have a nice house. You will live your life at what I call “GOOD.” That is a fun level and a lot of America does it! FUN! GUESS WHAT? You can change it to be more. That’s not who you are, it’s who you were.

If you did the entire thing…If you sent me all of the results, had them all laid out, had every answer, read the thing over and over, really checked it and sent me like 100 typos or more…You are going to have an AMAZING life. You take FULL action; you do everything that is asked of you. You didn’t have to do this, and you did. You will be managing at your company. You will have a fantastic husband or wife. You will give a lot; people will know you are dependable. You will live the life I call “AMAZING.” AWESOME, BUT GUESS WHAT? You can change it to be more. That’s not who you are, it’s who you were.

If you did the entire thing and added MORE THEN WHAT WAS ASKED of you, then you are in a whole different world then everyone else. I mentioned to do 6 of my blogs. But there were 8 big ones up there. 9 if you count the one that I wrote explaining the contest. A couple of people did the extra ones. Those people are automatically going to win some stuff. Even though they might not have won the contest I asked them, they put the extra effort in to do more and think outside of the box. A couple of people asked me on top of doing this contest if they could proofread my blogs from now on. They also didn’t have to ask that and are thinking outside of the box. One of them will start to become my full time proofreader, and when I have a book coming out, I will use her for that…Probably for money, too.

Doing just what is expected is going to give you a good life, but this is about having a life that is so much bigger! You are the person who will OWN many, many companies. You will have THE RELATIONSHIP of your dreams. Imagine if you were constantly surprising your wife with crazy out-of-the-box ideas. You come home from work and say to your spouse, “Honey! Pack your bags, we are going to Greece in the morning!” for no reason at all. You don’t just give him/her surprises because it is a birthday or anniversary and it is expected. You do it because you want to give MORE then expected. You work out that EXTRA hour. You give to society. You CREATE your world. You are someone who knows that the more you put into something, the more payback you will get. This life I call “FUCKING INCREDIBLE AMAZING.” At this level, you will own, have, be everything you want, you could have an animal shelter saving millions of abused animals, you could be helping to cure cancer. You will seek to learn how to be really, really healthy and get sick much less. You will be eating differently; you will encourage others. You will save lives. Examples of people who have had “FUCKING INCREDIBLE AMAZING” lives: Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Tony Robbins, Steve Martin, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, John F Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Einstein, etc.

This week when you have a task, job, relationship, etc., see what happens if you do a little more then what was asked. Surprise the person you are dating out of nowhere with something crazy. If single, really do some great stuff for yourself. Do these blogs, read some new self-help books. Or listen to them on tape while you work out, etc. Stay an hour late at work and don’t ask for extra money. Just do something cool for your boss. Do extra credit on some test. Clean your house for 3 hours, but then add a 4th. Work out TWICE that day. This is all I have been trying to do for the last week and the next week. I want to do more then I need to because I truly love reading your reactions. It means so much to me. If you guys make some different decisions then I can be thankful for doing this. It also keeps reconditioning me to be better, too. Every day I write these, then go out and be stronger. Now you do some big stuff for yourself or someone around you. Do more then you were asked. Try it. List out here some examples of ways that you could do more then you need to. The more you list, the more you are being “FUCKING INCREDIBLE AMAZING.” Start getting in the habit of being huge at tasks, and in life.

I can’t wait to tell you tomorrow about what happened to me today. Talk about amazing.

So results wise, to see who wins, I said that this contest ended at 5 P.M. today, which is really right now, so I have to look over these tonight to see. I posted this right when the cut off is, so I haven’t had time to see the results. I am posting them though, so we can all look at them! YAY! I will pick winners tomorrow. The key to permanent change, also Win My Stuff!

DAY 7. The real key to making PERMANENT change. WIN TONS OF STUFF TODAY EASILY.

If you are new at this, welcome. We are having a great time. Please check out day 1 through day 6. It will help you understand this, and as a lot of people have been reporting will change your life. It sure is changing mine!

Yesterday was clearly my biggest one…..the reactions I have received to “day 6 relationships” sure was big. How funny. Its my most recent too. The more I do this, the better I am getting. HMMMMMMM

I am going to do more on relationships next week.

Right now, from what you read in the last 6 days, you have slightly shifted your awareness. You have created minor pockets of seeing that there is a lot more possible. Just in this 6 days, I have over a thousand emails telling me of drastic change, IN JUST ONE WEEK. That is crazy. Remember, you are also brand new at this….So to feel change so quickly is amazing. This next week is such a bigger opportunity for you. IT will be way easier then the week before, because you have this slight understanding, but it will also get more results then the first week.

You have spent the last week, building up to the change. Now you have been using it, and slowly implementing it. This week, you are going to use it faster, and your mind wont be spending as much time going back and forth wondering if this works. YOU now know that it does.

Did you also notice that when you pictured the results, you understood them, but when you took action, you actually ended up feeling better then you had pictured? You had a sense of accomplishment and realized that for a day or 2 or 3 or a week, you showed yourself how good it feels to get results and have control of your emotions! Also did you notice that that happiness felt really good and was a feeling that is actually hard to sell to other people?

The reason they might not have known what you were talking about, was because they were not feeling it WHEN you described it to them. Often, the position you are in, the feeling you have, completely affects the thing that you are focusing on. So if you are in a crabby mood from something….and then you picture an up coming event or interview, or chore, anything. IT will seem much worse then it is. But if you were in a euphoric mood from something and you pictured those tasks, it would feel like a piece of cake, you would probably take the first step immediately.

The physical state that you in at the moment decides a lot of things. Your body is not releasing optimistic endorphins and you are thinking something so it sounds stupid. Have you ever been lying on the couch and thought, “Should I go to the gym now?” The answer will more often then not be no. Because in that lazy state, the future thought, “The gym” sounds aweful. What if you literally stood up and asked that question with your blood moving? What if you jumped up and down 10 times and asked it?

The funniest irony is that everyone can do that. But no one does. If you told a person just sitting and reading this stuff I said, they would say, “Im not going to jump up and down.” EXACTLY! That’s because when you said it, you were in a low state! You don’t understand the results until you are physically there. I will expand on this later this week.

So realize this. You have felt better after you made these changes. You showed yourself a little sample of what you can accomplish. I know of a lot more coming if you keep doing this. This week could be three or four times as good, because you already have a reference to the IDEA that happier is possible. So now, even though you might not feel it this second, you are going to do it more, and feel better results that are indescribable until next week, when you feel your ceiling of happiness expand.

This is why taking action is so important. To understand something is huge, but to apply it teaches you and engrains it into your system.

The other thing that is so huge is repetition. Repeating things makes it become your unconscious way of thinking. Doing this over and over and over will pay off in ways that I have learned and felt recently, and are also indescribable. I don’t want to just keep throwing you information and have a small amount of it stick.

When people hear things, they end up retaining 2 percent of it a week later. When they hear it a second time, it skyrockets to 28 percent. Third time is way more still. So if you go through this again, you will know 14 times more then what you knew the week before.

That is why I have come up with a really fun idea that is a fun contest with prizes, and will force you to take action and apply repetition. HERE IT IS.

I have written many blogs and noticed what I am sure you noticed…..several typos. Each blog has a few. I did not have time to get them proof read and if you noticed some and it distracted you, then I am sorry. SO here is my contest.

Go through my blogs again. Days 1 through 6. Also, look at my blog entitled “Problems, your greatest asset” and my blog about drug use entitled, “I lost another friend to drugs today” Go through all of those blogs and find all of the typos that I have left you. Write me and tell me what you found. This will force you to read everyone…..creating repetition and taking action at the SAME TIME! Whoever can write as a blog comment the most typos in all of those blogs gets the following sent to them.

How to get the greatest career and rip stress apart

Day 5. Career, your biggest passion.

Please read days 1 through 4 first.

How does it FEEL on the 5th DAY!? Take a second and realize that if you have done any of the things I said and it makes you feel 1 percent better then before…..then it completely works. You want to feel 2 percent better, do a little more. This goes on forever. Keep reading these, and rereading these, and pic up other stuff about self help. Print these blogs to push yourself. Tell your friends that you are going to do all these things so there is no turning back! You are setting an amazing path and if you have read everyone of these. You are capable and driven to keep going. Why? Because you are feeling the change and that is conditioning the positive feeling that is making this start to really work for you. This feeling is what is making you WANT to do more, versus wanting to procrastinate. Now you are going to stress if you DON’T take action. IF you feel pain sitting on the couch versus going after something YOU WILL be amazing.…..it is getting conditioned in you, the positive reinforcement is a reward that is making you want to do it again and again, and we are only on day 5. Wait til next week G-money.

If you have read every single blog, everyday, and you are now reading this one, there is no doubt that you are happier then you were when you started. If anyone is skeptical, they haven’t done this. I guarantee that there is no person who read everyday, took every action and hasn’t felt way happier and accomplished. Always notice the people who are skeptical in your life. Where are they at in theirs? I have always noticed that the people who say “You cant do that!” are usually pretty unhappy people. Anyone who might disagree with this thinking, I will say it again, they would rather be right, then happy. Realize that I am happy almost all of the time. Problems excite me and make me grow. I know how to get what I want. I see things bigger. I am getting amazing responses and love reading every single one. I don’t get sick anymore, I am getting younger, getting more accomplished and I feel that I can take on anything.

So every single day, I have been getting more views then the day before. I know its some of you showing your friends, I know its some of you reading all previous blogs, I know its some of you repeating blogs. Awesome. Whatever the case, awesome. It is very easy to slip back into the old way that society has presented us. Society is always happening around us. We are people who decide to create a belief system based on what society shows us is possible. Remember. That is a low standard. Imagine how different this world would be if everyone thought this way. The changes, the health, the growth, the economy, everything. That’s why I am writing this. I am hoping that as you start to notice that you are getting a mind set that is making you happier, stronger, healthier, etc, you share it with others. This thing is spreading like wildfire. 500 views the first day, 800 the second, 1000 the third, 1400 the 4th.

You might hear this and think, “That is actually kind of crazy, being happy all of the time.” Is it really? I feel that when we are sad, that is our emotions telling us to make a change. It is our body and heart saying something is wrong. So if my emotions are down, it is a call out. If people are depressed because they hate their job, change your job! If you think, “Can I get a different job?” then you are asking a level 2 question. Move it to level one. “How can I get a different job?” If you want to make it really level 1 you should say, “HOW can I get a way BETTER job that will fulfill me and make me feel a sense of purpose, getting paid for something I love to do?”

Its amazing how I watched my mom make that switch. Last year I went to a seminar. It was a four day seminar, one of many avenues that I learned from what I am talking about to you. It was so empowering. I took it one week before I shot Weirder, Blacker, Dimpler, my one hour Comedy Central special. (by the way, this isn’t to sell anything, but if you have seen it on Comedy Central, you haven’t seen shit. It was edited wrong and I recommend the DVD of the unedited version, which includes the documentary, Comedy 101 that focuses on the same thing my blogs are about.) After I came out of this seminar, my first thought was I really want my mom to go to this.

I called my mom and said “Mom, I am sending you to this seminar, and I am paying for it.” She, like all caring moms said, “No, I am not going to let you spend 1000 dollars on me.” I said “Mom, I don’t care about money, I see the result being huge here.” Its funny how after that seminar, all I was focused on was the result. Mom and I had this argument back and forth until she literally had no choice but to go because I wasn’t backing down. After DAY 1, she called me and said she had felt so so so happy. DAY 2 was even better and so on. Well, at the end they offer a much bigger set of seminars that is so big. It literally costs 10,000 dollars and mom insisted on buying it for me. Its funny how, even though, that wasn’t my intention, I got a return of 10,000 dollars in 4 days when originally the worry was me losing 1000.

At this seminar, my mom started learning how her passions could be a job. She had always worked good regular jobs in management and owned a company with my dad and so on. Up until this seminar she had jobs that were good, but not really her passion.

As I said with mapquest earlier, you have to write out what you do want versus what you don’t want. My mom realized what her passions were. She had two passions; art and real estate. My mom has always been an amazing artist and up until this point, had been doing it for fun. She also loved real estate. All my life I watched as she loved looking at new houses being built and studying things like, what their value is, how many rooms, etc.

You have to realize that whatever you passion is, whatever you love doing, there is a career for it. EVERYTHING. IF your passion is video games, you could work at Nintendo as a game tester. If its shooting guns, own a gun range, actually you could automatically think bigger and own several ranges. Seriously, even if your passion is that you like to talk a lot. Look at what I do. I have two different careers going here that are just me not shutting up. Its so funny how my mom didn’t even realize that this was her passion. Up until the seminar, art and real estate was just some side stuff that mom really loved to do for fun.

Well now she started being trained to think, “HOW can I use these two passions and have a career with it?” Her answer came to her when she realized that, when houses are for sale in magazines, some of them are sketches. Have you ever seen a picture of a house for sale in a magazine, and then right next to it, there is a sketch? My mom realized she could draw those sketches. Her next question kicked in. “HOW do I get this as a career?” This is so cute. She drew a house. Put it on a business card that says “Nancy Cease, Real Estate artist” and just went to different places like Century 21 and John L Scott real estate and handed them the card. She set a price and now she does it. No previous experience. A lot of people wouldn’t have even tried this because they would think “I don’t have enough experience, no one would hire me.” Mom didn’t care at all now.

I have been over while she is drawing it. You should see how excited she gets. She is bouncing up and down all of the time going “Kyle, look at this one too!!!” She is now happy. Her daily routine is only fun for her. Her job is just fun. It is a hobby that pays really well. Just like what I do. I love doing this so much. Any of you can do this with your passion too.

If you want this, you need to ask yourself a level one question. It is the most stress relief you can have. The reason that a lot of drug free comedians and cartoonists (Bob Hope, George Burns, Milton Berle, Charles Schultz, Mel Blanc, ETC) lived to be almost, or over 100 years old, is because they never worked a day in their lives. They had much less stress. If you aren’t completely in love with your job. Start figuring out your passion even if its farting and ask 10 level one questions. Then when you get the answer to that, ask 10 more to the question that follows.

DAY 4. Why this is working, and why the skeptical people remain unhappy.

Please read blogs 1 through 3 if you havent already before you read this one.

This is really getting crazy. It is only day 4 and I am getting tons of emails and responses from people who are having groundbreaking breakthroughs, getting happier then they knew what was possible. I heard from a girl yesterday who wrote a blog about how she was in a involved in a Columbine type shooting, and now is writing about it and feeling better. I have heard from people who said they are now getting along with family members, they are more optimistic and they are doing really well. The stress is leaving them because they are getting done things they have been procrastinating on for years. This opens up room in their mind to stop thinking of that phone call to return, or that couch to get rid of, or that light bulb to change, or that bill to pay. These little things are opening their mind to focus on more exciting things, since they aren’t using their mind to worry about other things.

I have noticed that now, for the third day in a row yesterday, I have more views again. Day one was 500, day two was 800, day 3 was 1100 views. This is crazy to know that in 2 days, I have more then doubled the views. I am now also getting requests to repost these blogs on different newsletters, magazines, etc.
If this many people are reading this and changing, and then relaying this to the people around them, think of how much is possible! Now think about it in 2 weeks, then a month, then a year.

Start thinking this way. Every single day you are given a little bit of new information. Remember that your mind can not think of two things at the same time. You can go back and forth, but with your full focus in one area, the other area leaves your mind. This is why reading these a little each day is like taking your mind to the gym. Your mind needs to think of something. You have to put something in there. When you take this in, it is a different new thing to focus on. So if you had been spending 12 hours a day before bitching about your day, feeling like crap, hating life…and you read this. Then it becomes like 11.5 hours of feeling like shit. With a new half an hour of optimism. Well if you want to make that grow more, here is the biggest trick. TAKING A FUCKING ACTION.

Have you ever had to call someone that you didn’t want to call, maybe a bill that was wrong, a friend that had a question, etc? Well how often have you procrastinated on those kinds of calls. You wake up at 10am and think, oh yeah, I have to call him. Now you just spent about 10 seconds thinking about that. But you don’t call him. Then at 11am, you think “I have to call him” This time it is more annoying. It sounds worse. If it’s a bill you might even think about all the shit that will happen with that phone call. You will have to push 1 then 2 then 7 then hold for 26 minutes, then finally when they answer, it’s the wrong department so you have to sit there and wait again. So that annoying pain makes you call again. So you don’t call again. Now you have probably thought about that a little bit for the next 3 hours. Maybe put 10 minutes or so ..ing how long it will take back and forth with your other tasks, which are now getting half ass treatment because you probably have numerous calls like this too make. Meanwhile, when you do think about it, your mind adds another annoying thing about it. These are actually just excuses you can give yourself for why you didn’t just call the person or company. You have now probably spent 45 minutes that day total thinking of that and other phone calls or tasks you have to do. Often, you procrastinate so long, that you don’t even make the call. So it builds up in your head that you have to do that the next day. But the next day has all kind of new phone calls and tasks you have to make. Now you are behind. That is how we live our lives often and why we get overwhelmed.

It is weird how easy taking action is. One of the things I learned from studying these books and seminars is change can happen in an instant. What takes time is deciding to build up to making that change. If you had just called that person or company right away, you would not have time to add all these problems to your mind. You would just do it. Often the task turns out to be way easier then you thought it would be. You get a bill from the phone company at 10am, you call the phone company, they come right on, answer your question, and it is over. Its done. Now its 10:02.am.

This mentality runs your entire life. People who take action immediately have really good credit and save millions in their lives by having low interest rates and not having to pay more money to prove themselves. Healthy people take action immediately, rich people take action immediately, happy stress free people do too. The list goes on and on.

Feel yourself today taking action on things you have been putting off for a long time. See the shift of how happy you get today just doing this. Along with all of your other new stuff, take these actions. Clear your mind of that stuff once and for all. Take 10 actions you had been procrastinating on. Make those phone calls, clear out the closet, call the dentist, schedule the piano lesson, whatever. Just watch how much stress leaves you immediately because your mind doesn’t have to juggle that crap.

I got tons of emails that were amazing in the last 3 days. A few that are a little behind in understanding this. I had a 16 year old girl write me yesterday and she said “I had made changes in the last month already and now my life has fallen apart.” I asked her why, and she said, Because the love of my life left me and listed other things, some were definitely serious, but here is the thing….Her question is already a negative. When I looked at her page, it had all kinds of stuff on it too that said stuff like, “Trying to make it through this hell.” and everything on the page was a complaint.

I told her to read my blog entitled “Problems, our greatest asset.” and immediately without reading it, she responded with “What if I don’t change.” She responded with that before she even read it! She is unaware that her questions will constantly bring out the lack of change. To ask me before she read it, “What if I don’t change?” is saying, “I am envisioning that I will not change.” The questions we ask are ourselves and out loud, set the entire tone. The most optimistic answer I can give her to that specific question is “IF you don’t change then you will be no worse then where you are right now, so read it.” That is a question that I am now calling a level 3 question. It is just asking the negative. IF you ask negative questions you will get negative answers.

Example of a 3 question.
“What if I don’t change?” “Why does this always happen to me?”

Try answering those questions and you will be extremely depressed.

A level 2 question is a question that has both optimistic and pessimistic answers as a possibility…

“Is change possible?” “Am I going to be ok?” “What am I going to do?”

The answers to that really are just you seeing two different outcomes. So your mind goes back and forth from happy to sad.

LEVEL 1 Questions! The best ever.

These are questions that act like a given that it is possible and it asks how. So instead of “Can I change,” or “Can I get this thing?” add how to the front.

“HOW can I change,” “How can I become a successful singer” Another great one is “What can I do with this?”

One time I was on a plane and we were about to take off. When we got to the runway, the pilot said “We are gonna be delayed 2 hours.” Most people on the plane sighed really loudly, or complained with stuff like “Just my luck,” or “This always happens to me” Some even added to other peoples “You think this always happens to you, Listen to my shitty life!”
I immediately thought, “What can I do with this?” cause I was now possibly going to be missing my gig I was heading to.

I had a CD “One dimple” coming out and I decided to ask myself this question. “HOW can I make this CD number one?” I started writing a list of clever ideas to sell it.

1. Get on a local radio show every day over the phone.
2. Hire a street team to get posters up in numerous cities.
3. Hire an assistant to do all kinds of my regular work so I had time to focus.
4. Get on the national radio show “Loveline” (Then I thought. “I don’t know anyone there, so HOW can I get tot know them….
5. Get in Magazines like Maxim and Stuff..
ETC

In that 2 hours I ended up writing out 177 ideas and I took action on all of them. I ended up hosting Loveline, got several appearances on huge national radio shows like “Bob and Tom” ETC and my CD became the number one debut comedy CD of 2006.

This caused me to make way more money and be successful on such a bigger level. I might have lost that one gig, but I gained thousands more higher paying gigs because I was known as a top seller. Thank god that plane was delayed.

TODAY

Along with your other accomplishments, Start feeling your own euphoria by taking actions on things that you had been putting off in a long time.

Also, See what happens if you start asking yourself level one questions. You are getting momentum and I know you will be so accomplished and euphoric if you keep doing this. If you are at all feeling down please reread older blogs. Allow yourself to control your emotions, versus the other way around.

2 weeks day 2. (only read if you read day 1. MORE IMPORTANT THEN DAY 1 though)

DAY 2 (This is more important then day 1) but read day 1 first.

I decided that I will write each new blog about this 2 week experience the next day, as opposed to night. That way I can go right to sleep that night. Then wake up and re-fire my thoughts and get even more motivated the next day. Last night I was writing my blog and literally fell asleep in the middle and woke up with the lap top on my lap way later.

The response from you guys was incredible. Because of your responses, I have been thinking yesterday about huge results with this. I mean really really big. I will show you what I mean as you stick with this daily. You will be the happiest people if you stick with this. IT IS SO IMPORTANT YOU DO. We are changing our conditioned old way of being and existing and scrambling that into something new and bigger……

It is hard the first few days, and here is why; Just like going to the gym, the first few days is extremely hard. The reason is because we are focusing more on the work then the results. You have a conditioned way of thinking that we have to break. That conditioned way of thinking gives you way different results in your life then if you learn to change your thinking and have new thoughts.

Yesterday, you temporarily changed your thinking. Well, if you change it again today, you will slowly gain momentum. Eventually it will be part of your unconscious thinking. As it is with mine. I still want to change it to be even higher though. That’s why I am doing this. Please continue to read these everyday and do this. I promise if you do, you will be jump-started to a new way of thinking and start to see your life as better then before.

You will feel more of a purpose and you will stop your negative beliefs from stopping you. We have so many BS beliefs that stop us from doing everything. “Im too young, Im too old, I don’t have the money, I am too fat.” I read a comment that was posted from a girl that said “Yeah but I am only 14.” First of all, that is an advantage that she isn’t even realizing. I started standup at 12. I never thought I was too young. If anything, I realized my age would help here…..I was touring at 14 and working a lot. When I couldn’t get into a lot of Comedy Clubs that are 21 plus, it didn’t even occur to me that this was a problem…..I just rented out high school theaters, called all the local papers, tv shows, radio, etc and said “LOCAL BOY DOING COMEDY SHOW!” they all did huge stories on this. I charged 10 dollars a ticket and sold out all shows. Making way more money then if I could have got into the clubs. So when someone says to me, “Yeah, but Im only 14″ I say “Congrats!” you can use that!

You wont get anything done if you focus on the work. The reason is your focus is being put on the task over the results. This one switch in thinking is so important. If you are someone who says, “I am going to lose weight.” YOU WONT. This is because you are focusing on the task.. You even are saying the words “lose” and “weight” , two words that are negative in your subconscious.
But what if you weighted 180 on may 25th and said…..”I am going to way 170 by July 1st.” Already that sounds different and a little more appealing.
Then, if you really want to make it insanely appealing, list all of the reasons you want to weight it by that date. The minute you feel a reason, the quicker you will get there.
Just list the reasons you want something. Go for a while too, the reasons will get more extreme……

I want to Weigh 170 by July 1st because…..
1. I will look better
2. Because I could have more confidence.
3. Because I could date anyone I want.
4. Because I could get laid more.
5. Because I would look good in a bathing suit this summer.
6. Because I could inspire others to do this too.
7. Because I could show myself that I can break out of old patterns and really do anything.
8. Because I can show myself that change is possible.
9. Because I will be healthier.
10. Because If I can weigh 170 at this point, I could easily weigh 160 by August.
11. Because I will save millions in the long run on hopital bills,
12. Because I will make the odds of my family having to lose be to heard disease or cancer at a younger age worse.
13. Because if I live healthy, one day I will meet my grandkids. Really Healthy could mean great grandkids…..
14. Because I will see that I am in charge…..

I could write 100 of these….;

If you wrote out of all of these things. YOU WOULD NEVER EVEN want to leave the gym. You would only be focused on your future and you would never be working out thinking “How much longer” you would probably be thinking “Crap I already did 2 hours here, if I do 2 more I might hit my goal early!” you will start not only going to the gym, but getting addicted to it.

I cant believe how much I got done yesterday and I reminded myself of a lot of stuff that I had already known. If you want your life to be even better and live life on a higher level remember this.

Yesterday I
1. Went to Bikram yoga, the most intense yoga to exist….
2. Worked out on top of that
3. Cleaned out tons of old stuff for hours. Getting rid of anything that I havent used in the last 6 months. (this creates tremendous stress relief, I will explain why in future chapters)
4. I listened to other motivational tapes.
5. I wrote more of my script for a Comedy Central show…
6. I ate really really well, only healthy organic
Food.
7. I went to bed earlier, and had a happier conditioned feeling…..I woke up more pumped to do this again…..
8. I did something that is gonna sound dumb to you, but check this out. I avoided going to starbucks. I have been hooked on starbucks drinks. I used to go 3 times a day. When I went every time; I spend money, gain weight, and lose time. I am cutting off starbucks for now. It might seem like a loss, but again, if I focus on the positive. I am not “giving up starbucks” I am gaining time, adding helth to my life, and saving literally 10-20 bucks a day, that could go towards paying off my mortgage, or to a cancer fund, or to the campaign of my favorite politician…….

So I lost 2 pounds, toned up a little bit, am a little healthier and have a few more buck then I would have had if I had not done this. YOU THINK THIS SHIT ISNT GONNA ADD UP?

My goal today is only this. Do better then yesterday. I showed myself yesterday is possible, today I am going to beat it.

If you did nothing yesterday, don’t kill yourself over it. Just start today. I promise on my life that if you start today or just beat yesterday, you will be so euphoric at the end of the day and you wont believe the results. Gain some momentum so that this starts to become your way of thinking everyday.
Do some more stuff, go get a motivational tape, while you clean, or write, or work out, and condition this stuff in you more…..this is really powerful stuff and it is a step close to getting you what you really want in your life….

I hope so much today that I get even more responses from you then yesterday, this is such important stuff and I want to see growth in all areas. 580 peple read my blog yesterday, thats amazing. If you are really pumped, show a friend this. Then you are doing something for yourself already…….getting your surroundings happier. Who you are around decides a lot about who you will be….

GET MOMENTUM. Work more today, eventually it wont be work. It will be how you are…..

Today write out 2 specific goals and write out 20 reasons why you want them…..watch what starts happening to you….

How much can happen in 2 weeks?

I have the next 2 weeks off. I am curious what the maximum amount of things I can get done are….. I am proud of all that I have accomplished in my life so far. I am a successful stand-up comic with an amazing fan base. I have lost a total of 50 pounds in the last 5 years, I have been through a detox, bought a house, got out of a relationship that was unhealthy for me, created my own production company with my brother, etc….

But because these things have happened, It is extremely easy to get comfortable and lose my drive. Recently I think I did. I got lazier this week then usual. This is good, because I am getting uncomfortable which is bringing my drive back, and this time harder then before.

When we do well, we tend to party, or be lazy, or whatever. This takes away the drive to accomplish more. But the truth is all humans need growth no matter what level they are at.

Did you know astronauts are often very depressed people later in their lives? The cause is, they feel it is hard to grow after going to the moon. Think about it, if your life goal is to go to the moon, and then you go, NOW WHAT? They, like all humans need growth.

I know that if spent the next 2 weeks, working out heavily, followed by some intense Bikram yoga (That is yoga in 105-110 degrees) daily, wrote stand up for 2 hours, followed by 3 hours or more of sketch writing, along with shooting some heavy new shorts, along with creating a pitch for comedy central (the greatest channel on the planet (or off)) Writing out new goals daily along with new thoughts on my blogs, creating a growth daily that beat the day before,
I could have, in 2 weeks, a WHOLE NEW LIFE ON A NEW HIGHER LEVEL.

IT is hard to envision what that life would include because I think that acting this way will also prove to myself that I am in charge, I am the voice, and I can control myself and give myself whatever discipline it needs. So the long term benefits that come with this are so much bigger then just the results of the 2 weeks. Mark my words, some big shit is gonna happen just from this change. I feel like anything that any other person has accomplished, we could all accomplish.

We could all be a Martin Luther King, a JFK, a Gahndi, an Obama (or Hillary or McCain, whatever) a Bill Gates a Donald Trump. The only thing that truly made them different from everyone else was they kept a vision of the end, the result. God, Martin Luther King even said that when he said his dream. He only said the positive results. HE Said what he wanted versus what he didnt want. That speech would have been a lot different if it was like “I Have a dream, that you will stop being dicks to us, and quit treating us like shit and like we are different.”

You have to see the results. We spend most of our life focusing on what we dont want. “I dont want to be so fat, I want my boyfriend to stop being a jerk, I dont like living in this dump.”

Try a test. Go up to your most negative friend, especially one that isnt getting the life they want, the one that is always complaining. Ask them what they want in their lives. At first they will be offended by the question, and have that to focus on. When they finally get that you are trying to help them make their life better, listen to their answers….they will all be what they dont want. “I hate this job. I am tired of my girlfriend, my boss is a dick, my rent is too much” etc

Then go to your most positive, succussful friend. The richest one who has made some big changes, the one in a great relationship, etc…you will hear not only positive answers, but they will be huge visions. A person who’s goal is to make this world safe and healthy and to create growth in the world and for themselves is going to have a way different life then the guy who’s goal is to just quit smoking…..

The reason we use mapquest is, we type in where we want to go to and then mapquest gives you the quickest way there. It knows what you want. If you typed in “I dont want to go to Denny’s” it would probably suck. In fact it would probably say, “Well now Denny’s is all I can think of”

We continually focus only on what is wrong. If you are having a hard time getting out of a relationship, you know its because you are chosing to focus on the 12 great memories with that person, when you could chose to focus on the bad memories and why you left, or better yet, the 3.2 billion people who just became available.

Isnt it crazy that MLK, JFK, had that level of drive, and sometimes we cant even not eat a doughnut if it is sitting in front of us?

Why do we all CHOSE to have these different levels of discipline? ITs where our focus is. “I wont eat that doughnut.” is a thought that will actually make you want that doughnut more. “I love when my body is at peak health and I love the life long benefits I get from being completely healthy, like longer happier stonger life.” Will make you forget the doughnut exists. The doughnut would get into the way of that goal.

This insane new focus on this crazy growth future will be what drives me. It keeps me from just sitting and watching TV, or just chilling at starbucks, or just waking up, lying in bed and staring at my phone out of boredom.

If my focus is on creating something incredible and telling you about it, it might motivate you to take yourself to an even higher level. The only thing that we are truly fighting is our sense of discipline. That is it. Not the outside world, not a boyfriend or a girlfriend, not a bad job, nothing but ourselves.

So I am using you now. My drive to take my life to a higher level in the next 2 weeks comes from my desire to show you its possible. I have so much fun writing these blogs. More now then performing. Write me and tell me what you did! I want to hear it. There are no excuses. I dont care if you are too busy with work, or family, or anything. See what the most you can do with your current situation is. If you dont like your situation, picture the bigger one you can have and then ask, how do I get it now? Then take that action….

This might sound corny to some of you. But that’s only because you tie this stuff to old motivational speakers that came to your school, or whatever.
If you are mocking it then you would really rather be RIGHT over HAPPY. I mean if you dont believe it, then you wont try, then when nothing good happens for you, you can say “See! I told you.”

Try going with it. Write out what you do want, and why you want it. You will start to feel a shift in your drive that you didn’t know you had.
This is how you get what you want. How to get any relationship, house, money, growth, change, new mindset, ETC. Just try it. Talk to you tonight.
